A fifth-generation Texan and native Houstonian, Todd Frankfort graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and later received his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law.
Mr. Frankfort has worked in private practice since 1994, and gained wide experience in real estate and corporate law, which he has now brought to the practice of family law with Fullenweider Wilhite. His prior experience includes: corporate and personal lease negotiations, corporate structuring, real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and negotiations and drafting of loan documents on behalf of lending institutions and borrowers in commercial and real estate matters. Now, Mr. Frankfort's practice is dedicated to family law, including divorce and custody litigation, post-divorce disputes, premarital and marital property agreements, and children's issues.
Becoming Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2007, Todd has written and spoken on various family law related subjects, including: Closing Documents and Transactions (December, 2010); Overcoming the Obstacles of Child Custody (June, 2008); Economic Contribution & Reimbursement (March, 2007); The Basics of Child Custody Litigation (March 2007); Divorce & The Close Corporation (March, 2006); and Business Considerations in Family Law (2005). Mr. Frankfort has also been invited to serve on the faculty of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy - Family Law seminar, where he helped other family law attorneys hone their litigation skills.
Mr. Frankfort has distinguished himself in the Houston legal community by being active in the Houston Bar Association, where he currently serves as a member of its Board of Directors. Todd has also chaired or co-chaired several committees of the Houston Bar Association, and has been honored with a President's Award for Outstanding Service, and Awards of Merit. Todd has chaired the Board of Directors of the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center and the Houston Lawyer Referral Service, and currently chairs the Historical Committee of the Houston Bar Association.
Most recently, Todd was granted Fellowship in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML). Fellows of the AAML are highly skilled negotiators and litigators who represent individuals in all facets of family law, and are generally recognized by judges and attorneys as preeminent family law practitioners, with a high level of knowledge, skill, and integrity.
After graduating from college, Mr. Frankfort worked in Washington, D.C. as a legislative assistant for a Member of United States Congress. In his spare time, he enjoys running, cycling, reading and spending time with family.
