Profile

Donn Fullenweider was one of the premier family law trial lawyers in the United States – as his impressive list of national and state honors and associations can attest. Admitted to the Texas Bar in 1958, his legal career earned him a unique spot in the Hall of Legends of the State Bar of Texas. In 2008, Donn joined in partnership with Randall Wilhite to form the firm Fullenweider Wilhite, with the aim of delivering superior legal representation and advice in family law matters.

Donn Fullenweider passed away in April of 2023. Most known for his exceptional professionalism, he was not only a titan in the courtroom and a warrior for his clients, but also a consummate gentleman, inspiring mentor, and trusted friend to all who had the privilege to know and work with him. He was, indeed, a true visionary leader and iconic legend in all aspects of the practice of law. His leadership and dedication to his wonderful family, his law firm, as well as his fellow attorneys all over the United States, provided inspiration to all who shared the privilege of knowing such a remarkable man. As a law firm, Fullenweider Wilhite will continue to honor his legacy by maintaining his ideals and principles, and with remembrance of the many lessons learned from him about excellence, civility, friendship, and devotion.”

  • Distinctions And Certifications

    As a mentor to and teacher of other attorneys, Donn founded many law groups, including the Texas Bar’s Litigation section, for who he served as its first chairman. He also founded the ABA Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute and the American Inns of Court – Houston Family Law Inn. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the State Bar of Texas.

    Donn Fullenweider was a frequent lecturer on family law and civil trial techniques, and spoke before Bar groups in every major city in America. He was also the author of more than 75 legal papers and articles throughout his career.
